Combining Research and Treatment– the Center's data scientists work together with clinicians in an unprecedented combination of patient care and applied research. When research is combined with clinical treatment, results not only give hope to patients being treated, but it brings us closer to making sure that no one will have to feel that way again.
Research Biobank
The Tick Center continues to build the largest collection of highly curated patient specimens for acute and chronic tick borne illnesses for research purposes. The Center features state of the art collection protocols and equipment to collect immune markers, inflammatory markers, tick-borne and other pathogen markers, and human and pathogen RNA and DNA. The Biobank is a repository for multiple sample types including immune cells, plasma, serum, whole blood, and specialty specimens. Also curated within the repository are groups of patient samples from other comparator illnesses.
